Hardware RequirementsIf your PC can run Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002 it should be able to handle the Visual Flight terrain mesh scenery without any serious impact on frame rates. To get best enjoyment from the scenery, the advice, as always, is to get the best system within your budget, but try to balance CPU, memory and graphics card. If you don't already have FS2002, that should be your first upgrade - its frame rates and smoothness are far better than FS2000, and it is a more effective upgrade than any hardware purchase. This scenery has been tested on a system with a 1GHz processor, 512MB RAM, and an nVidia GeForce II MX200 64MB graphics card at 1024x768 32bit with all graphics options on their maximum settings. This gives acceptible frame rates, and reducing some of the less essential graphics settings leads to big frame rate improvements, so there is plenty of scope for finding a good balance of performance vs display quality. It has also been tested on a Pentium II 233MHz system with 128MB RAM and Voodoo Banshee graphics card. Despite the processor being below the official minimum spec for FS2002, performance was still acceptible, and the scenery delivered a significant improvement on the default FS2002 scenery even with minimum graphics settings. |
