Does anyone by any chance have the Elan Valley dams scenery made several years ago and originally uploaded to the old VFR site please?
Thanks |

Hi Graham. I've got it in FSX and GenX scenery, and although it doesn't fit closely in the terrain, it certainly adds something to the area.
Having said that, I can't find where it's been installed. It's not in my addon scenery folder, and I can't find any indicators as to where it might be.
If I manage to locate it, or if anybody out there can tell me the install route, I'll zip it up and send it to you.

Hi Hi Dennis and Graham
The only ref I can find to Dams in my addon scenery is Chew Valley Lake Dam by justin Wilmott N51 21.05 W2 37.09
Any use? AlanT
HOWEVER doing a search for Elan Dam on this site does bring up an autogen file ref that does includes Elan valley dam.
Heres the link More FS files available at vfraddon

Hi Alan. I just came back to say that I had found that thread myself. Thanks anyway.
I don't know if George can throw any light on the matter. It appears that he provided me with an installer. Strange that, because he hates them!
I really can't remember the situation clearly, but it was more than three years ago.
Dennis. |

I don't think so Dennis
Graham,
You can download the files from

One of the dams needs lowering and the skidding bus realigned

Hi George,
the skidding bus looks about right, but I'd like the lowered dam.

Shep (and George too, IIRC) helped me to rescue quite a few files from the broken VFR Addons site; don't recall if Elan Valley was one of them. I am pretty sure I have an Elan Valley scenery, and it is on my backup storage at home, but I won't be at that home until next Saturday week. That's the trouble with having a job 3 hours drive from one's residence. My house is in Forest Hill, but I work 30km W of Condamine, which itself is some 300km W of FH - so most of the time I am in digs at Condy.

Like a lot of other forums, things appear to be very quiet on the surface. However, when the need arises, it becomes a seething mass of people coming up with answers and solutions.
I think we are very fortunate that John and Shep keep it up and running for us, and I for one, am very grateful to them. In fact, I think we all are.

Well said that man - it was Shep who suggested I ask about the Elan Valley dames here.
It seems ages ago that this forum was the heart and soul of the UK vfr community - good days too. |
