A great program, FSPilot (c) 2005 by Scientific Networks, Munich at http://81.169.129.72:8080/FSPilot/content/index_eng.html
It is the only program I know which adds an autopilot to helicopters and allows the user to create flightplans from take-off to landing. It is shareware but I was so impressed I had to donate.
Here is a montage of shots taken during the flightplan for cbcdesign's Lakes' Tour, the sequence is left to right, top to bottom. The flightplan attempts to keep the helicopter about 500ft above the ground, but there are a few hairy moments when it just clears some of the peaks.

I second that George and thanks for pointing it out. I had trouble using the JetRanger on AP (landing problems) but the default Robinson worked a treat at x2 sim rate.

Hi George I have been playing around with FSPilot for a while now and you are quite right, it is a great program, especially for helicopters. It says in the manual that you can imprt flight plans from other programs like FSNav. I have,so far, been unsuccessful at this. I can use files from the FS9 flight planner which are in *.pln format but can't work out how to do this with the *.fsn files from FSNav. Have you tried this or have any ideas how it may be acheived, the FSPilot manual is a bit sketchy on this point.

Hi Rod,
You need to export the FSNav FP to .pln before you can import into FS Pilot.

Thanks George,
I figured that was probably the case but havn't worked out how to export *.fsn to *.pln yet.
Rod.
Edit: But I have now and it works very well. |

A few more shots from the Lake District, same flightplan but with a more realistic visitor.

Super shots George |
Can the magic of flight ever be carried by words? I think not.
