Maybe, like me, other people have been having problems downloading the video so can't see for themselves what it is all about before looking into what appears to be a slightly complicated set-up. I don't think the language difference will help either. The problem I'm having with the video is that it cuts off every time at 2 and a bit megabytes rather than letting me download the full 40MB, and there's really not a lot more than the titles in the bit I've got so far.

I'm up for it Voodoo......
Your efforts are not in Vain.......I suppose many others, like me, want a simple button to press to get it to work....but I think it's going to be worth setting it up......I also remember during Fairford that it would have been great fun to have us all flying with smoke, as we did manage some formations, and it would have looked great.....
I for one will give it a try....

I'll check out the other videos.
Even if no-one but Ninja takes it up for now, there's no point deleting the discussion. It will be on Google for anyone interested to discover in the coming months if they're searching for multiplayer smoke, and I'm sure your introduction to the software will be useful. Chances are that some other Visual Flight forum users will pick it in due course anyway.

Still no luck with the videos. Is anyone else able to download/view any more than the opening titles? (UKVoodoo, you may already have them in your browser cache, so any problems may not show).

I thought I'd wait until there was a bit more about this smoke system before I decided what to do. It sounds great but I will have to leave it at the moment. Hopefully it won't be too much longer before I can do some serious up grading that I have been talking about, to be able to enjoy the whole experience including this smoke. My main problem right now is lack of access to broadband though this again may get sorted before long.
Good work Voodoo, I am sure it isn't a wasted effort . I suppose it just comes back to this basic point of standardization - that is everyone involved having more or less the same setup so that everyone else to all see an accrurate picture, instead of approximations of say aircraft for instance. |

Yes, I managed to download and see the videos, but like the ones on another thread in the lake district, they were so washed out that it was difficult to see exactly what was happening. I did see that there were smoke trails, but the detail was very deficient and not enough to make me want to go to the trouble of exploring a new multiplayer option.

I don't what's wrong with my download either, which is why I was asking if anyone else was managing to download them, which Norman has done, though I'm not sure if he means he has just done this since I asked or had already grabbed them previously. Maybe I should be asking if anyone else is having problems with them? I've just tried again with the same result unfortunately.
Of course you are should post about this on flightsim.com if you think you'll get a better response, but you sound as if you may still be annoyed in some way with the comparative lack of response you've got here, though I hope that's not the case. Whether or not people actively respond, the information will have been read with interest and anyone wanting to follow it up no doubt will do so.
