There is a superb little program available now at avsim and flightsim that generates General Aviation traffic from your existing aircraft library in FS2004. Not only does it populate EVERY airfield (including those with no parking spots) with new traffic it also contains an "AI" texture optimization tool to prevent your PC grinding to a halt with all the new AI textures floating about in your virtual skies.
There is just too much to mention that's good about it so do a search for "GA-Traffic" on avsim/flightsim. Its written by a guy called Markus (sorry don't know his surname) and it's absolutely free. Works great on my machine and all my UK2000 airfields/VFR scenery is now buzzing with (realistic) GA aircraft (using correct reg codes too!)

Adam

I haven't tried this program, but I have been using ProjectAI (http://projectai.com/) to create realistic commercial traffic, which sounds like it would complement this very well.
It doesn't generate traffic as such... rather the traffic flys around according to predefined schedules. Lots of airlines are available for download and, with some perseverence, you can create your own realistic traffic for your local airport, with the correct aircraft in the appropriate liveries.
I really like the added realism... and it is something to do whilst waiting for my VFR terrain to arrive :)

A search for the file name 'setup_139252.zip' should find it.

Looks a great program. Pity it's only for FS2004. Mike |

John did you find it?
Sorry I couldnt give more details spent ages looking for his name and filename (I changed the filename when I uploaded to my server).
Link here for anyone still looking

It's a little buggy at the moment but with some tweaking it works well just ensure you untick any aircraft you dont want as G.A (like the Cessna 208 in my case - I am sure there are not three of them at Biggin!)

Yes I did, I found it on flightsim.com. I just wanted to have a more detailed look at the description, so I've not downloaded it yet, but it does look like something I'd be interested in, and I'm sure many others will as well.

I think it is super for those who want extra traffic at their smaller airfields in FS2004 - especially those of us with UK2000 and VFR Scenery who like the extra realism brought by being surrounded by lots of GA traffic (with G reg callsigns).
I love the fact it reduces textures on non AI aircraft to make them "framerate friendly" and the ability to add aircraft at ANY airstrip with or without AFCAD parking slots. I now have a full compliment of microlights in my Halwell scenery - something that would have taken me ages to do myself (ie editing and reducing texture size and writing .txt files for use in TrafficTools etc)
Now awaiting my VFR Mesh to put the "icing on the cake"

i was a beta tester for that program and it was pretty fantastic, his main reason of making it was because he liked FS and wanted to learn more C++, dan edit: p.s you can downlaod it at http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=47722 |
